This section is divided into three main parts: Introduction to Communication: Communication as a culture; and two levels of Communication explaining the Tools for Conflict Transformation.

INTRODUCTION

Conventional wisdom (and research) says that good communication can improve relationships, increasing intimacy, trust and support. The converse is also true: poor communication can weaken bonds, creating mistrust and even contempt! This tool discusses different Communication Tools that are utilised in Peace building and Conflict Transformation. The tools used depend on the kind of Organisation, as well as the targeted audience. In the case of Conflict transormation, this depends on Organisational outputs as well as relations with the media. Put differently, both horozontal and vertical relations with others determine the kind of tools to utilise in the art of Conflict Transformation.
