7. Risk CommmunicationThis is a featured page

Risk communication, communicating about risks in situations of acute or potential crisis in order to reduce anxiety or fear, is a concept that is widely used in the field of public health and disaster management. We believe that it is useful to apply it in the field of peacebuilding. Organisations engaging in peacebuilding that are often based in conflict or post-conflict settings can make use of the experiences in other fields in order to communicate messages in a way that promotes non-violent reaction to risks and crises. This chapter will inter alia introduce the concept of peace journalism that can provide guidance on what and how to communicate in conflict situations.
