| Process: | I) Before of the training, prepare a presentation on the content you would like to introduce to participants. Prepare visual aids to help participants follow the presentation. Try to make it short, maximum 10 minutes. II) Divide the plenary into teams of 5-6 people. Explain that you are going to introduce new content and that you will ask teams to generate a summary. Summaries will then be exchanged between teams; the best summary will be chosen and presented to the plenary. III) Do your presentation. IV) Ask teams to generate a max-99-word summary of the presentation and write it down on an index card. Allow 5-10 minutes for this process. V) Ask teams to “send” their summary to the team next to them. Ask each team to read the summary and place a mark on the back of the index card - they can rate each summary from 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent). VI) Allow for each team to read and rate each summary. Then collect the index cards, check their score and nominate a winner, celebrating with some fanfare. VII) Ask the winner team to present their summary to the plenary. |
