Can we reuse interesting texts?

Hi there, I just wanted to check with you how much we can cooperate in the making of this resource kit and the new New Routes, which will have a thematic focus on conflict transformation? We will have articles of Lederach (on the basic of CT compiled by Kristina), Thania (on the difference between conflict resolution, conflict transformation, conflict management etc), UPDI in the DRC, the LPI office in the DRC ( on CT from a LPI view) and ICCO included...as well as possibly a article written by a military guy looking at how they see conflict transformation. Does this sound interesting? Oh and we will include a 'resource page' in the NR as well trying to highlight key literature on the topic...

Malin,
this sounds interesting. I believe that some of the articles could be used in specific content chunks of the Resource Kit, probably the introductory one.
It will be important to ask the authors to allow publication of the articles not only in NR but also in peacepaces. Mind that publication in peacepaces.com normally should go with a Creative Commons license, we are opting for the

Attribution Non-Commercial Share Alike

This license lets others remix, tweak, and build upon your work non-commercially, as long as they credit you and license their new creations under the identical terms. Others can download and redistribute your work just like the by-nc-nd license, but they can also translate, make remixes, and produce new stories based on your work. All new work based on yours will carry the same license, so any derivatives will also be non-commercial in nature.

Charlotte knows more details about this, you can get in touch directly with her.

Cheers!
Michele

Sounds good. I will ask Kristina to check this with the authors.

Now that you take this on, makes me thinking...

There is a great wealth of resources that the Institute has published over the years. I am thinking - just one of the latest examples - of the articles on NR on peacebuilding evaluation. And if we go back in the years, how much is there?

there is a section that we still do not know how to use, now called "food for thought". That is the way wikis develop, they take shape based on emerging priorities. So, how can we use all the wealth of resources that the Institute has already published in this new format? It is about moving from a static format (the book) to a dynamic and interactive one (the wiki). Think about the potential hat we have at hands...

Malin, let's have a skype call on this ASAP, could you share this message with Charlotte?

Cheers!

Hi Malin and Michele,

I think it is a great idea to try to connect what LPI has been done in the past with peacepaces.com. It is not only a way to boost the contents that are there, but more importantly, people that have been involved in LPI's publications are exactly the peacebuilders that could collaboratively develop peacepaces.com. We have this wide network of peacebuilders, here we could have a space of connecting them!

I am on for a skype call (Malin: We can see how we can sort out technical hurdles here in Uppsala), will be in Uppsala most likely Tuesday to Thursday next week.

Best,

Charlotte
